The RAMAN Project
Our project supported by the European Union and the EIC Transition Excellence Program
What is the RAMAN Project?
The RAMAN project addresses a major challenge: understanding and controlling microbiomes, those invisible communities of microorganisms that play a key role in our health and industrial processes. Today, analytical technologies are either too slow, too expensive, or limited to detecting a small range of pathogens, often overlooking beneficial microorganisms.
RAMAN revolutionizes microbiology with a unique and disruptive approach
1. A comprehensive microbiome analysis (species and activities) performed in less than 10 minutes, directly on-site.
2. An exceptional precision, capable of identifying each microorganism at the single-cell level.
3. A portable, accessible, and far more affordable solution compared to current technologies.
Two flagship applications highlight its transformative potential
This innovation makes microbiology more predictive and holistic, opening up countless new opportunities in healthcare, the food industry, and beyond. By combining speed, precision, and ease of use, the RAMAN project redefines the standards of microbiological analysis ↓
1. Perinatal health
Better detection of microbial imbalances during pregnancy to reduce the risk of severe neonatal infections and limit the overuse of antibiotics.
2. Winemaking
Preventing microbiological defects in wines, particularly those caused by undesirable microorganisms, and optimizing natural fermentation processes.
